Along with her twin sister, Mary, Janet Owen was one of the founders of the Inspector Morse Society and quite a character. For many years she worked in London at one of the top auction houses before retiring to Poole where she became a gardener of some note. Always cheerful she was the self-proclaimed No. 1 fan of John Thaw. For pleasure she was a cartoonist and drew under the name of Jasper.
