Antony J. Richards
Away from his professional life as a Chartered Scientist and lecturer at the Open University for over 25 years with an interest in molecular modelling, Antony’s life has been murder!
Having been interested in detective fiction Antony took an exam for the Certificate in Holmesian Studies (passing it with distinction and earning the initials CHSD). Later after an encounter with the actor Tom Baker he agreed to put together a Sherlock Holmes murder mystery to be performed at the Kent & East Sussex Railway in 1992 – and so started a life of crime forming the Irregular Special Players in the same year. Later still he was to buy Breese Books and found Baker Street Studios Limited in 2004, and most recently started a bespoke tour company dedicated to exploring locations associated with various film and television detectives (Detective Tours).
He has other interests in railways (especially luxury train travel and is a member of The Pullman Society), and the history of London (of which he is a Freeman, Liveryman Basketmaker, and a Past Master of Aldersgate Ward Club).
